Getting on the water

Whether you take advantage of programmed Calendar sailing and racing, or want to do your own thing, we are ideally situated for all types of activity on the water: 15 minutes max to the harbour and then a sail with the flood to the upper reaches of the harbour and a sail back on the ebb – what could be better?

Keep tabs on the latest news section of the website for up to date information about times or join the club news group for regular emails to advise likely participants of sailing events or changes to the programme. Most boats are suitable for the harbour but the most popular for day sailing are the Finn, Laser 2000, Gull, Wanderer and Wayfarer.

    Calling all Juniors…

After coming so close last year with George missing out on the Finals by tenths of a second, Paul Taylor and the RIB section are starting practise sessions for all Juniors interested in learning to drive a RIB. There are two age categories, 8-12 and 13-16 and each session is designed to teach juniors to drive a timed course around a set of marks – the fastest time wins. The slalom buoys are set 12.5m apart so that skill and control, and not just speed, are the most important factors.
