HARBOUR EXPLORERS/SOCIAL SAILING
For those who do not always want to race dinghies, there is an active Social Sailing section now called Harbour Explorers where members go sailing in company. The Harbour Explorers days and times are listed in the programme and tend to be organised around a high tide around the middle of the day. It will be supported by a RIB and also a hard boat, but if you look in the calendar will see that a volunteer is needed to accompany the rostered helm; if you fancy a day out on the water, or are a new member wanting to get a feel for the harbour or the patrol boats, then put your name down on the volunteer list. The club has a large number of Gulls and a growing fleet of Scows and a number of larger day boats, such as Drascombes, that enjoy a “potter” around the Harbour. All classes of sailing boats are welcome to join in the Harbour Explorer days.
